Privacy Policy

1. No Tracking, No Analytics

SaathiAI does not use cookies, analytics scripts, fingerprinting, or any form of user tracking. There is no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no telemetry of any kind. We literally cannot tell if you visited.

2. No Accounts, No Personal Data

SaathiAI does not require registration or login. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information. All progress (if any) is stored locally in your browser using localStorage and never leaves your device.

3. Location Information

Some features, specifically the Sky View Planetarium and Star Alignment visualizations, work best when they know your approximate location on Earth. This lets us show you the correct night sky, star positions, constellations, and celestial alignments for where you are.

• Permission-based only: Your browser will ask before sharing location. You can say no, and everything still works (we'll use a default location).
• Used in real-time only: Your coordinates are used in JavaScript running in your browser to calculate star positions. That's it.
• Never stored: We do not save your location to any server, database, file, or cookie.
• Never shared: Your location is never sent to any third party, API, or external service.
• Approximate geolocation: If the browser Geolocation API is unavailable, we may estimate a rough location from your timezone to improve sky rendering. This estimation happens entirely in your browser.

4. No Ads, Ever

SaathiAI will never display advertisements. We believe educational content should be free from commercial distractions. This is a core principle, not a temporary policy.

5. Third-Party Embeds

SaathiAI embeds content from the following sources. Each has its own privacy policy:

• PhET Simulations (phet.colorado.edu) — University of Colorado Boulder, CC-BY 4.0
• GeoGebra (geogebra.org) — dynamic math applets
• Windy.com (windy.com) — weather visualization iframe
• USGS Earthquake Map (earthquake.usgs.gov) — real-time seismic data
• YouTube (youtube.com) — educational video links (not embedded players)

When you interact with these embeds, those services may collect their own data per their policies. We have no control over that.

6. Local Storage

SaathiAI may use your browser's localStorage to remember preferences (like last-used simulation settings or theme). This data lives on your device only, is not transmitted anywhere, and can be cleared at any time via your browser settings.

7. Children

SaathiAI is designed for students of all ages, including children. We take this seriously: because we collect zero personal data and require no login, there is nothing to comply with under COPPA, GDPR, or India's DPDP Act. The safest data is data that doesn't exist.

8. Open Source

SaathiAI's source code is open. You can inspect every line to verify these privacy claims. We believe transparency is the strongest form of trust.
